Sheila Sarver to Succeed Joe Long as Chief Technical Officer

TROY, Mich., April 15, 2024 – Inteva Products, a leading global Tier One automotive supplier of engineered components and systems, has announced that Sheila Sarver has joined Inteva as the company’s new Chief Technical Officer. She will report to President & CEO Gerard Roose.

Sarver succeeds Joe Long, who has elected to retire after nearly 43 years in the automotive industry and over 16 years with Inteva. They have worked together throughout this month to ensure a successful transition.

“With over 20 years of global engineering experience, Sheila is an ideal choice to continue to drive our technological advancements forward,” said Gerard Roose, President and CEO. “She will bring a valuable and innovative perspective to our executive leadership team.”

Most recently, Sarver served as Vice President – Americas Engineering at Otis Worldwide Corporation. She has held a variety of engineering and program management roles at global manufacturing companies such as Otis Elevator Company, Yanfeng Global Automotive Interior Systems Company, and Johnson Controls.

During her career, Sarver has led significant technology transformations globally, enabled digitalization, executed strategic quality initiatives, and established engineering program management operating systems, among many other career highlights. She has been widely recognized for building high performance cultures and technical teams.

She holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Michigan-Flint and Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Kettering University. Sarver is also a PMI certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and AIAG certified Lead Auditor.

Long, who was one of the founding executives of Inteva in 2008, is retiring after a long, successful career. Long began his career with General Motors and has since held numerous engineering positions including Chief Engineer for the Closures product line and Lead Engineer for the automotive industry’s first powered sliding door program. For his creativity and innovation, Joe earned a Boss Kettering award and Delphi Automotive recognized Long as an inaugural member of its Innovation Hall of Fame.

“Inteva would not be the company it is today without the leadership of Joe Long,” said Roose. “He will be greatly missed as a valued member of our global leadership team, and because of the foundation he has laid, I am confident about Inteva’s future!”
