Inteva Products Branded Vehicle Successfully Crosses Moroccan Desert to Provide Humanitarian Aid

The Inteva Products logo was prominently displayed during a 6,500 kilometer road rally designed to provide humanitarian aid to school children in Morocco. Established in 1997 upon the initiative of Ecole Supérieure de Commerce de Rennes, a French business school, the 4L Trophy is a humanitarian rally with Renault 4 cars. Its objective is to drive across the Moroccan desert to provide children with needed school supplies and other necessities.

Inteva sponsored a team participating in the 2012 4L Trophy car rally which ended February 26th.

“Everything went well for our students - team 278,” reported Jean-Marc Belmond, Senior Director of Roof Systems, Motors & Electronics, and Closure Systems for Europe and Asia. “They had no issue with their car even after a 1, 500 kilometer drive in the Moroccan desert. “

This humanitarian aid raid was primarily intended to transport 80 tons of school stationery for Moroccan children. Some of the supplies are given to the Moroccan League for the Protection of Children and some are distributed to schools along the route.

Teams begin the rally from Paris and Bordeaux and drive through France and Spain. Participants will have to cross the mountains, dunes and wadis during nearly 1,500 km of trails in the Moroccan Desert. Every day, the aim is to win the day’s stage using the Road Book, a map of Morocco and a compass. The ranking is based on the teams’ ability to drive in the desert and to reach the checkpoints as required.
