Gadsden Team Members Raise $9,200 for United Way

Inteva team members at the manufacturing plant in Gadsden, Alabama have just completed their local United Way campaign raising needed funds for the Etowah County United Way.

“We were able to raise $9200 compared to the $6700 that was raised last year,” reports Joyce Luker, Plant Manager, Gadsden Operations. “This was a 37% increase with only half as many people.”

The money will be used to help support the 26 agencies of the Etowah County United Way.  Etowah County residents received 57,682 units of service through the local United Way last year. Through this service:

  • 3,659 people received food or shelter from the Salvation Army
  • 13th Place gave 61 teenage runaways a safe place to stay
  • 1,291 children received free books monthly through the Dolly Parton Imagination Library
  • 94,640 meals were served to the elderly and shut-in

The United Way also helps fund the American Red Cross that played a huge role in helping local residents during the April 27th tornado disaster.   “Dana Palardy served as our campaign coordinator and I am so proud of the job he did,” said Joyce. “I am also very pleased with the giving attitude of our employees and their willingness to help others in need”
